ATK FR14 is a ski mountaineering ski attachment designed for free touring. It is the brother of the R12 model that you can find available in our catalog but with a substantial difference: in fact, the set of springs that defines the side and front release values has been enhanced. These values on the FR14 therefore have a wide range of adjustment ranging from 8 (DIN) to 14.
Furthermore, we find the included Freeride Spacer, which is optional on the R12. This accessory must be fixed in front of the heel and serves to diminish the space that is created between the sole of the boot and the ski. Therefore intended for the most extreme freeriders, it serves to have the boot firmly attached to the boot. It transfers the vertical loads given by the large jumps directly to the os without stressing the attack too much.
In addition to this extremely useful and functional system if you want to make great descents on fresh snow, we also find many other technologies and patents found in most of the ATK line.
- Easy Entry System: renewed shape of the tip to facilitate the entry of the boot, even the one with the most worn sole.
- Snow Pack Proof System to prevent the formation of an ice base under the tip.
- U.H.V. System (Up-hill Hardness Variator) to vary the hardness of the tip coupling during the ascent phase.
- Cam Release System to improve the descent phase, with a precise and safe release.
- Elastic Response System: this is a sliding system applied to the heel piece that guarantees the natural flexibility of the ski especially during descents with large compressions and jumps.
- Magneto Heel Flaps System which makes it possible to choose between 5 heel heights. This is useful for not fatiguing your calves uphill.
In addition, the FR14 has an integrated ramping door and also a 25 mm plate that allows the attachment to be adapted to another pair of boots without having to refuel the ski.
