ATK FR14 ski touring bindings
ATK FR14 is a binding for ski touring designed for free touring. It is the brother of the R12 model that you can find available in our catalog but with a substantial difference: the set of springs that defines the lateral and frontal release values has been enhanced. These values on the FR14 model therefore have a wide adjustment range from 8 (DIN) to 14.
Additionally, we find the Freeride Spacer included, which is optional on the R12 model. This accessory is to be fixed in front of the heel piece and serves to reduce the space created between the sole of the boot and the ski. Therefore intended for the most extreme freeriders, it ensures that the binding is securely attached to the boot. It transfers the vertical loads from big jumps directly to the ski without overly stressing the binding.
Besides this extremely useful and functional system, if you want to make great descents on fresh snow, we also find many other technologies and patents present in a large part of the ATK line.
- Easy Entry System: renewed shape of the toe piece to facilitate the entry of the boot, even one with a more worn sole.
- Snow Pack Proof System to prevent ice buildup under the toe piece.
- U.H.V. System (Up-hill Hardness Variator) to vary the hardness of the toe piece attachment during the ascent phase.
- Cam Release System to improve the descent phase, with a precise and secure release.
- Elastic Response System: this is a sliding system applied to the heel piece that ensures the natural flexibility of the ski, especially during descents with large compressions and jumps.
- Magneto Heel Flaps System that allows you to choose from 5 different heights of the heel piece. This is useful to avoid excessively tiring the calves during ascents.
Furthermore, FR14 has an integrated climbing aid and also a 25 mm plate that allows you to adjust the binding to another pair of boots without having to re-drill the ski.
