ATK SL World Cup ski mountaineering bindings
ATK SL World Cup bindings for ski mountaineering. These are the historic race bindings from ATK: the first appearance dates back to 2011.
Over the years, they have undergone improvements to perfect every little detail and make them appreciated by every skier.
Like all ATK bindings, SL is characterized by extreme lightness (110 g each) thanks to various technologies and patents applied that reduce weight and simplify use.
- Rolling-In System: the first applied patent consists of a 'U' shaped spring with rotating bushings (hollow cylinders) that speed up and facilitate the attachment on the heel piece in all snow conditions, even when it is fresher. The rear part of the binding is also equipped with a stiffness adjustment system for the flap.
- Easy Entry System: this second patent consists of a renewed and improved shape of the front toe to ensure that all ski mountaineering boots can easily enter, even those with more worn soles.
- Monolink Technology 1.0: this technology consists of making one of the two arms of the toe fixed, thus saving about 2.5 g for each binding, making the attachment stiffer and exerting less pressure on the locking system.
As for the lateral and frontal release values (DIN), they have been chosen and studied in collaboration with ATK athletes. The race setting of these SL World Cup bindings has a lateral release value of 8 and a frontal release value of 9: with these values, an excellent balance between safety and stability has been achieved.
