The Atomic Backland Sport ski mountaineering boot is entry level and perfect for beginners, designed to be comfortable, lightweight, and easy to wear and use.
Backland Sport features a two-lever Free/Lock 2.0 closure system, allowing you to easily switch from skiing to walking, providing quick and precise adjustment to perform well both uphill and downhill.
The lightweight and durable Prolite construction has reinforcements in high-stress areas, enabling you to tackle ascents with less effort and descend with great power thanks to the Energy Backbone.
The boot is also equipped with a Memory Gold 3D Light Fit liner, which is washable and breathable.
The Backland boots are only compatible with TLT-style touring bindings that use traditional pins at both the toe and heel. They are not compatible with hybrid touring bindings, such as the Shift MNC 10 and 13.
Be aware of the sizing system for Atomic boots. Sizes go in increments of two, so a 27 actually corresponds to a 27 - 27.5. If you wear a 27, you can purchase a 27 and use an insert found inside the package that allows you to take a half size. If you wear a 27.5, you can wear the boot without the insert.
