Description
The Viper Hammer ice tool from Black Diamond is an ultra-versatile mountaineering tool designed to excel on steep couloirs, ice routes, and mixed winter ascents. Its curved and lightweight handle, made from a single piece of aluminum through hydroforming, offers optimal balance between stiffness, strength, and reduced weight (585 g). Exceptional versatility is ensured by the adjustable upper FlickLock® grip and the collapsible lower grip, which can be removed for clean penetration in the snow during piolet-canne use. Part of the I.C.E. (Interchangeable Component Equipment) system, the Viper offers complete modularity, allowing for interchangeable blades and accessories (it comes with an I.C.E. blade and either a hammer or alpine pick) to adapt to any technical terrain. The handle and knobs are overmolded with a soft, high-grip material for superior control and comfort in all conditions.
