BD Black Diamond Vision MIPS climbing helmet
BD Black Diamond Vision MIPS is an ultra-light climbing helmet designed specifically for those seeking a new helmet to tackle the most challenging multi-pitch routes, equipped with the innovative Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, or MIPS.
Featuring a shell that combines EPP and an EPS disc, Vision is very durable thanks to the polycarbonate shell that perfectly absorbs impacts. But that's not all; thanks to the presence of the MIPS system, the inner and outer shells are fixed together by elastomers that allow one part to slide over the other.
This is the innovation of this particular system. When the user experiences a non-linear impact, the damage that can be inflicted on the brain is significant. For this reason, when it comes to an angular or rotational impact, the inner shell can shift a couple of millimeters, protecting the head and thus reducing the amount of rotational force that can be transferred to the brain.
Side protections also shield the head at 360°, meeting the new requirements set by UIAA.
Strategically positioned are the openings to ensure constant internal ventilation even at high temperatures.
