Beal Air Force 2 belay device and descender is the ideal choice for those looking for a versatile belay device that can accommodate very thin ropes.
Air Force 2 accepts single ropes, but also two double or twin ropes, and using it is extremely simple and intuitive.
The two V-shaped braking grooves with asymmetric side notches allow you to control the descent and braking maneuvers on the rope, optimizing energy absorption in case of a fall arrest of the lead climber. The other two wide and smooth grooves reduce passive friction at the angles, limiting and eliminating rope wear during double rope descents or top roping.
Beal Air Force 2 has an adaptable braking strength from 7.3 mm to 10.5 mm in diameter.
