CAMP Matik belay device with assisted braking system
CAMP Matik is a belay and descent device with assisted braking designed for sport climbing.
Among the innovations in the world of belay devices, we find a braking system called Patent Pending. This ensures that in the event of a fall, the rope blocks gently to avoid annoying static catches. Moreover, your beloved rope may last a bit longer!
Another innovation is the anti-panic system that activates when the descent lever is pulled too hard or too quickly. In these situations, the rope is automatically locked. This system is useful for beginners or when using the belay device with thin ropes. It should be noted that Matik can accommodate ropes with a diameter between 8.6 mm and 10.2 mm.
A point in its favor is that, not having movable flanges, this belay device does not work if, due to distraction, the rope is not perfectly placed in its seat. In fact, if the cam is not in position, it will obstruct the hole for the carabiner, preventing its entry.
Entirely designed and manufactured in Italy, the Matik has a hot-forged central body that ensures its strength.
