Galvanized steel is a carbon steel with a zinc coating. The thicker the zinc layer, the more resistant the nail will be to corrosion. They do not last forever, they last as long as zinc is consumed while stainless steel lasts longer in the same corrosive environment.
CAMP was born in 1889 in Premana (LC) as founded by the blacksmith Nicola Codega. He and his family produced the gear that helped the Italian soldiers move on the Italian mountains during the First World War. They particularly developed the ice axes. By the end of the Second World War the legendary Italian mountaineer Riccardo Cassin started working with the Codega family, and the brand became a landmark in the production of mountaineering and climbing gear.
