Caving descenders are composed of a supporting structure consisting of two side flanges and two internal fixed aluminum pulleys, around which the rope runs. The brake of the descent is nothing but the friction produced by the rope between the two pulleys.
CAMP was born in 1889 in Premana (LC) as founded by the blacksmith Nicola Codega. He and his family produced the gear that helped the Italian soldiers move on the Italian mountains during the First World War. They particularly developed the ice axes. By the end of the Second World War the legendary Italian mountaineer Riccardo Cassin started working with the Codega family, and the brand became a landmark in the production of mountaineering and climbing gear.
