Figure Eight climbing descenders are used for rappelling. They are also used for arresting the fall of a lead climber. One loop of rope passes through the big eyelet and around the stem, a carabiner is then clipped through the small eyelet and connected to the harness.
CAMP was born in 1889 in Premana (LC) as founded by the blacksmith Nicola Codega. He and his family produced the gear that helped the Italian soldiers move on the Italian mountains during the First World War. They particularly developed the ice axes. By the end of the Second World War the legendary Italian mountaineer Riccardo Cassin started working with the Codega family, and the brand became a landmark in the production of mountaineering and climbing gear.
