The TripleGrip lobes of the Dragon feature an increased contact surface with a raw aluminum finish and additional grip points. These features work together to increase friction between the cam and the rock it is placed in. This enhances holding power and reduces movement, particularly in smooth or soft rock types and in marginal placements.
The single stem and dual axle design give the Dragons 360° flexibility and a wide expansion range, improving performance in suboptimal placements and helping you get the right piece on the first try. The forged hot button of the Dragon offers stable handling and reduces difficulties caused by gloved hands and fatigued fingers. It allows the Dragon to have an extendable sling without resistance penalties, reducing the number of quickdraws needed to extend placements and minimizing rack weight.
The entire range of DMM protections is color-coded for quick and easy size selection. The colors are coordinated between passive and active protections for a quick selection of alternatives in case your first choice does not fit.
A forged hot button allows for quick placement and retrieval, as well as stable handling. The button allows the cams to have an extendable sling without sacrificing strength: Dragon cams from size 1 and up have a strength rating of 14 kN.

These have additional edges that lock onto crystals and other micro-features, helping the Dragon bite to increase grip and reduce movement. Extendable slings allow for quick extension of placements without additional quickdraws. Extending placements reduces rope drag when routes change direction, bend, or traverse overhangs. Just clip each cam to its own carabiner for a self-contained system that is quick and easy to extend. Carrying fewer quickdraws minimizes rack weight on your harness.
Dual axle cams have a greater expansion range than single axle designs, allowing them to fit a wide range of crack sizes. This enables dual axle cams to fit more placements and have greater overlap between sizes, allowing you to carry fewer units to protect the same range of cracks.
