DMM Revolver Wiregate climbing carabiner

The DMM Revolver Wiregate is a carabiner designed to reduce the friction of the rope passing through it. For example, when positioned at points where the climb changes direction, it decreases the rope's friction and facilitates upward movement. The Revolver can also be used in a pulley system to help the second climber overcome a difficult passage, to transport bags on a large wall, or for rescue maneuvers of a climbing partner from a crack. While regular carabiners in these systems lose energy in the form of friction, the small pulley of the Revolver makes it easier to pull by converting more energy into movement. A Revolver on your harness will allow you to reduce rope friction and create mechanically advantageous systems without the need for additional devices.
