Edelrid Mega Jul II belay device climbing
Edelrid Mega Jul II is a lightweight and solid belay device and descender made of stainless steel to increase its durability, now in its second updated and improved version.
The Mega Jul is excellent for belaying the lead climber with both single rope and double or twin ropes. It can be used with ropes with a minimum diameter of 7.9 mm and a maximum of 10.00 mm.
It features an additional upper ring that allows, once at the anchor, to organize the retrieval of one or two seconds of the climbing team in brake mode. Thanks to an additional lower ring, the Mega Jul II also allows for controlled descent of a second from the anchor.
It is also great to use as a descender for double rope descents, with or without a prusik or machard knot.
