The integrated HMPE webbing allows for a simple hand movement to switch between three different braking levels, adapting to weight distribution. The built-in pulley keeps friction at the first anchor point lower than using a quickdraw, making the Ohmega imperceptible during progression or the act of clipping, even on long and challenging routes.

Thanks to the short HMPE webbing and the resulting minimal activation distance, the belayer can act more dynamically and smoothly, reducing the risk of impact trauma. In the event of a fall, the cam slows the fall, supporting the belayer and compensating for any weight differences; thus, in the case of a significant fall, the belayer will not be lifted off the ground.

Even in low-height falls, the braking effect of the Edelrid Ohmega reduces the risk of collision between climbing partners and the first climber hitting the ground, reliably braking even if the climber falls directly onto the device.
