La Sportiva Skorpius CR Black / Yellow men's ski mountaineering boots
La Sportiva Skorpius CR are ski mountaineering boots designed for the most demanding skiers who are looking for a lightweight, durable, versatile, and safe boot for both uphill and downhill.
For the ascent, in fact, the boot is very lightweight and has a wide range of motion between the shell and the cuff. Regarding the descent, the locking system is very simple and secure, and the boot as a whole is solid, safe, and responsive.
As for the materials used, they are very resistant. Both the shell and the cuff are made of Pebax, a special plastic that allows for reduced thicknesses and consequently the final weight of the product. The difference with other models of boots from La Sportiva is that the Skorpius CR has a shell reinforced with carbon, super lightweight but helps to strengthen the boot and absorb vibrations.
The cuff also has a total inclination of 68°, aided by the EZ Flex Overlap Tongue with a joint at the ankle area. This great inclination allows for unique customizable mobility, perfect for making quick movements.
The closure system is very simple and fast: you will find a single classic buckle on the cuff and an additional adjustment velcro (Easy 2 Wear). On the ankle, you will find an additional patented buckle called Spider Buckle EVO. This allows for fantastic adjustment of the internal volumes, making the boot extremely comfortable and adaptable to any foot type.
The transition from ski mode to walk mode is very quick and, especially, thanks to the SWING-LOCK Closure System, it avoids exposing metal parts to wear and impacts.
