The MSR Elixir 2 V2 backpacking and camping tent offers exceptionally spacious and durable shelter, ideal as a first tent or as a versatile base camp for two people. With an internal area of 2.82 square meters and a true rectangular floor plan, it comfortably accommodates modern wide sleeping pads without annoying overlaps. The exclusive pole geometry optimizes vertical space, ensuring a maximum internal height of 104 cm that allows for movement and sitting in total comfort. The tent body combines 20D nylon micromesh panels and 40D ripstop polyester, ensuring the perfect balance between breathability, warmth, and privacy. Additionally, the mesh fabric is solution-dyed, an eco-friendly process that drastically reduces water and energy consumption, cutting carbon emissions by at least 80% compared to traditional methods.
User-friendliness is taken care of in every detail both inside and outside. The tent doors feature a linear design without curves, equipped with zippers that can be easily operated with one hand and a unique closure point to facilitate opening even in the dark. The internal organization includes large ceiling pockets for lamps or glasses and lower pockets with corner cable pass-throughs to neatly manage charging cables. On the weather protection front, the Elixir 2 boasts a 75D ripstop polyester rainfly with a water column of 1500 mm and a 75D taffeta polyester floor rated at 3000 mm, both treated with a PFAS-free DWR water-repellent finish and completed with fully taped seams to keep the elements out.
Setting up the freestanding structure is immediate and intuitive thanks to the color-coded pole and strap system. Stability is ensured by robust 7000 series aluminum poles and premium quality metal corner components designed to last over time. The rainfly extends the available space with two large side vestibules totaling 1.41 square meters for gear, equipped with StayDry doors with integrated gutters and updated vent structures with kickstand design to prevent condensation. With a total packed weight of 2.82 kg (minimum weight of 2.33 kg) and closed dimensions of 51 x 17 cm, the tent comes complete with all accessories, including a protective footprint for the ground, 10 Hook stakes, guy lines, and a transport bag.
