The German company Ortovx started the production of mountain rescue equipment in 1980, when Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developerd the F2 frequency transceiver . Since then its catalogue has expanded to the production of backpacks, probes, shovels and anything that is useful for the safety on the mountains.
