Description

Petzl Am'D Twist Lock is the classic D-shaped carabiner from Petzl, featuring hot-forged construction, now available with a two-movement automatic locking mechanism. The large size does not compromise the very low weight thanks to the hollow profile, and the lever opening movement is very smooth and can be operated with one hand. The nose has key lock technology to minimize the possibility of accidental snagging, making the carabiner perfect for use with a belayer like the Gri Gri.

The company Petzl was founded by two speleologists, Fernand Petzl and Pierre Chevalier. Together, they brought numerous innovations to their discipline and to sport climbing. In 1968, they began producing the first descenders, and in 1975, the Petzl brand officially entered the market. The company, founded in France, has always focused on research, development, and innovation; it was Petzl that invented the GRIGRI in 1991, the first self-braking belayer. In 2014, new branches were opened in Spain and Germany.
