SCARPA F1 ski mountaineering boots
SCARPA F1 is a ski mountaineering boot dedicated to all those looking for a versatile boot suitable for all ski disciplines: it is indeed perfect for both ascents and descents.
F1 is aimed at both beginners and more experienced users, a comfortable, high-performance, and lightweight product.
Made of Pebax and Grilamid, it is extremely durable and long-lasting. Pebax is a blend of elastomers that provides resistance to wear and impacts, while Grilamid is a fiber that best absorbs vibrations, transferring them directly from the boot to the ski. This transmission of impulses is also facilitated by the Carbon Cage Evo system, a carbon insert.
The inner liner is extremely snug and enveloping: Intuition is a thermoformable liner that is recommended to be heat-molded before use to enhance performance.
The closure via the Boa Fit System is incredibly quick to adjust (each click corresponds to 1 mm) and, above all, wraps the foot perfectly.
The construction of the cuff is X-shaped thanks to the X-Cage Evo construction. This stiffens the boot without increasing its weight and significantly reduces torsion.
The F1 Lever rear system allows for a super quick transition from ski mode to walk mode. Additionally, with Friction Free, there are no connecting rods, making the walking mode much smoother.
F1 is also equipped with a RECCO system present on the Velcro strap of the right boot, a localization system in case of an avalanche incident. This system should not be considered a substitute for the safety system provided by ARTVA but is exclusively an additional safety measure. With this, the recovery time can indeed be reduced.
