Versante Sud Easy Climbing in Trentino Alto Adige Vol.2 is an impressive guide to easy climbing routes.
The second volume, dedicated to the eastern valleys, offers 116 selected ascents from the 24 mountain groups east of the Adige valley: Breonie di Levante, Alpi Aurine, Monti di Predoi, Monti di Fundres, Vedrette di Ries, Monti di Casies, Gruppo delle Odle-Puez, Gruppo delle Fanes-Senes-Braies, Dolomiti di Sesto, Gruppo del Catinaccio, Gruppo del Sella-Sassolungo, Gruppo del Latemar, Gruppo della Marmolada, Catena di Cima Bocche, Catena dei Lagorai, Gruppo di Cima d’Asta, Pale di San Martino, Alpi Feltrine, Gruppo della Schiara, Catena di Cima Dodici, Piccole Dolomiti, Massiccio del Grappa, Gruppo del Col Nudo-Cavallo, Monti Lessini.
The proposed routes are selected for their panoramic views and difficulty: there are no routes with climbing difficulties beyond the II degree, but not all ascents are easy hikes: some require knowledge of glacier progression, the use of a via ferrata set, and the ability to move using handholds.
Finally, there are proposals for almost all seasons: in both volumes we find routes of the true Alpine arc with high altitudes and ice, to be traversed in the height of summer, as well as routes on mountain groups closer to the Pianura Padana, thus passable until late autumn or in winters with little precipitation.
