Versante Sud Eastern Sardinia Crags English version climbing guide:
The eastern part of Sardinia has been known for years for the quantity and quality of the rock. But especially in the last ten years, there has been an impressive growth in the number of crags, especially in Ogliastra.
At the same time, the re-bolting and renewed attention to the “classic” sectors by various authors is contributing to making the island one of the most sought-after and interesting destinations in the Mediterranean basin in terms of sport climbing, as well as the beauty of the places and the rock.
Richard Felderer, born in Monza in 1970, has always been called Riky by everyone he can remember. In 1987, he discovered climbing thanks to the Monza gym of Rondò dei Pini, where an exuberant Eugenio Podio had glued holds to the wall, creating one of the first indoor climbing gyms in Italy. Shortly after, he bought equipment with a friend and began to discover the vertical world, a passion that radically changed his life. In fact, his work as a photographer and journalist almost immediately developed in the field of outdoor sports and, in the last twenty years, mainly in vertical sports. Work and passion allow him to live the mountains intensely and, in addition to some awards and honors, he became part of the Ragni di Lecco. He has collaborated and still works with the most important magazines and companies in the sector, as well as with Versante Sud for over twenty years now. In 2016, with his better half, he left Milan and moved to Sardinia, to Lotzorai, where he manages a bed and breakfast. Apart from regularly climbing with local friends and taking photos, he dedicates himself to bolting crags and long routes. The product is available in English.
