Versante Sud Presanella Rock & Ice is a climbing guide in German where you can find numerous climbing routes: from classic high mountain, to ice and mixed, to sport climbing routes, modern or in the style of "adventure terrain"!
The Presanella mountain massif, closely linked to the Adamello, is the highest peak in Trentino and is characterized by glaciers and fantastic granite rock called Tonalite. This area has always been characterized by a lack of information regarding climbing routes, just think that before this, the most recent guide dates back over 35 years ago.
This guide aims to clearly collect all the climbing routes of rock, ice, and mixed, citing only the main normal routes used also as return paths from climbs. The goal and ambition is to give the right visibility to this magnificent and wild territory and facilitate its enjoyment by climbers!
The author, Francesco Salvaterra, is an Alpine Guide at home in Presanella, which is for him a place of growth and climbing maturity, thanks to many repetitions and new routes on the compact granite cracks and icy couloirs that have prepared him for bigger mountains like Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy in Patagonia, where he climbs and guides clients every winter. This guide is born from a love for these places and with the dream of enhancing the stunning mountains that have much to offer to those who approach them with a spirit of adventure.
