Versante Sud Ticino Rock is a climbing guide that encompasses the most beautiful crags of Locarnese, Valle Maggia, Bellinzona, Moesano, Riviera, and Val di Blenio, Sottoceneri, Leventina.
This 2021 reissue has been completely revised, corrected, and expanded. It now features 69 climbing sites, some of which have never been published before, totaling 3450 routes. Detailed access maps, aerial photos, color drawings, and numerous action photographs are also included to guide you in discovering the vertical beauties of Ticino.
A detail that enriches and completes the work is the various interviews and contributions from some of the key figures in the international and local scene who live or have passed through these incredible places.
Egon Bernasconi, the author of this guide, is the founder of the Picalciot association, which aims to promote climbing primarily in Vallemaggia, also through the bolting of new climbing routes. Egon has opened over 500 new single-pitch routes and various long routes scattered throughout the Ticino territory; however, his favorite playground is Vallemaggia, where he lives.
