When indoor climbing was still a distant mirage, the futuristic climbers of those days took advantage of city walls to keep fit and show off their new eccentric  passion, then a prerogative of the few.

In Rome, strong climbers of the late 1970s were creating circuits on the concrete bridges that stood near the Grande Raccordo Anulare, while in Milan, the first experiments in ‘specific training’ were carried out on the famous Porta Venezia wall; here, exploiting the natural holds offered by wall conglomerate, the first traverses and the first draft of climbing training were born.

After other open-air urban walls and a few years of experience in the first gyms that were beginning to spring up in some Italian cities, the first bouldering gyms also began to open in Milan. Today Milan offers - as in all areas - a variety of indoor climbing centers like few other cities in Italy, with some gyms central for national and international competitions.

Let us start with the indoor climbing and bouldering gym par excellence: the Urban Wall in Pero represents the ‘non plus ultra’ in Milan and the surrounding area. With a climbing surface area that makes it stand out as one of the largest indoor climbing gyms in Europe, it hosts competitions and events at an international level, and is one of the most comprehensive in Italy.

Urban Wall combines the fun side of climbing with the possibility of training at the highest level: to get an idea of the potential that this facility can offer to those who come regularly here for training, we only need consider that it is often used for training workshops by the National Climbing Teams of many different countries.

If you like lead climbing, there are more than two hundred routes, some of which are equipped with autobelay systems. Similarly, if you prefer bouldering, here you can test yourself with the latest competition style boulders of the highest quality all the time.

In addition to hosting our well-stocked Oliunìd Shop Urban Wall, the UrbanWall in Pero always has many active partnerships with the most important climbing brands such as The North Face, La Sportiva and Petzl. Not to be missed are the product and material testing events, the meetings with the protagonists of our sport, and the numerous contests that attract athletes from all over the world.

RockSpot was founded in 2009 from the passion of Alpine Guide Mirko Masè and climber Paco Dell'Aquila and immediately established itself as one of the reference points for climbing throughout Lombardy. Its 4000 square metres of climbing surface area are divided between all climbing disciplines, including Speed: given the scarcity of gyms offering the possibility of training and competing in this discipline, it is not infrequent that the Speed competitions of the Liguria Region and - in some cases - of Piedmont also take place here.

In addition to lead climbing routes - also in autobelay - boulders and circuits, the training board section is also particularly rich, with a 25-degree Moon Board and a 40-degree Moon Board, motorized Tension Board, and Pan Güllich. The well-stocked fitness area will also boost your motivation to find your best form and complete your projects on the rock!

RockSpot's Instructor Team organizes numerous courses for children, teens and adults, with a top-level Competitive Group flying the gym's colours at major regional and national competitions.
