KAVU stands for Klear Above Visibility Unlimited, an aviation term that symbolizes perfect weather days with clear skies. Founded in 1993 by Barry Barr, KAVU is dedicated to creating fun, functional outdoor clothing and gear for adventurous souls. The brand started when Barry, a commercial fisherman, lost several hats to harsh sea conditions. In response, he designed the Strapcap, a rugged hat for active use. KAVU now offers a wide range of products, from durable pants to iconic accessories, all built to enhance outdoor experiences, whether it's hiking, picnicking, or simply enjoying a KAVU day.
