Atomic Backland Summit 5 BR is an all-round alpine touring binding designed for backcountry skiers who seek adventure on all types of terrain. The unique release value adjustment offers release values up to 5 for reliable operation, safety, and superior performance. The AutoFlex system features a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5 mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that provides flexibility to support the natural flex of the ski, enhancing absorption and improving safety. The patented Step-in Aid perfectly guides the boot into position, while the Climbing Aid easily adjusts to 0°, 7°, or 13° with a simple pole tap. The Touring brakes are equipped with a unique locking system that allows for easy switching from hiking mode to skiing mode. The Alu/PA Pin toe and heel use a high-performance PA material reinforced with fiberglass to keep the binding lightweight for climbing, yet sturdy and reliable for descending.
