BD Black Diamond Camalot Z4 is a climbing friend, a true innovation in the world of climbing for the year 2020!
Created with the valuable collaboration of great athletes like Hazel Findlay, Carlo Traversi, Sam Elias, and Babsi Zangerl, the Z4 addresses a significant need that all experienced climbers have had.
The Z4 consists of a single stem with a special technology pending patent called RigidFlex. This allows the stem to remain rigid when the friend is under tension or retracts while it flexes when positioned in the rock.
Once placed, the stem moves without causing the cams of the friend to walk: it stays exactly where you put it.
For larger sizes, the stem has a double twisted cable structure that allows for uniform flexing. For smaller sizes, however, the construction is a single cable made more durable to ensure excellent safety.
Finally, the thickness of the head is very similar to the old Camalot C3.
