The Costa Blanca has transformed into one of the best climbing areas in the Iberian Peninsula. In a very small area, there are over 100 first-class sport climbing areas on sun-kissed rock.
The Roca España Costa Blanca Volume North climbing guide describes 40 sport climbing areas from Calpe in the south to Castellón de la Plana in the north.
One of the most popular destinations is the Sierra de Toix, with over 200 routes. Those who prefer something more alpine will find multi-pitch routes on the picturesque Peñon de Ifach. The small area of Coves Roges, near Gata de Gorgos, is published for the first time. Some inland climbing areas such as Barranc de I'Avern, Montesa, Bellus, and Vallada with its ingenious sintering routes are also described. And near Castelló de la Plana, the northernmost region of the book, the climbing areas of Borriol, Cucalla, and El Castellet, completely unknown in German-speaking countries, are presented.
