This first volume of the Normal Routes of the Aosta Valley series examines all the peaks listed and indicated as such in the official cartography of the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, which are accessed from the Saint Barthélemy Valley and the Valtournenche, totaling 95 summits. No peak has been overlooked, and all routes have been personally climbed by the authors, almost exclusively during the summer season of 2018. Some mountains present logical ascent routes from more than one side and from different valleys, but in this case, the technically easier routes with the most logical path, the least elevation gain, a more accessible approach, and a shorter duration have been selected. However, any variants and other possibilities for climbing the same peak are indicated in their respective entries. Some peaks that are part of the geographical, visual, and climbing horizon of these valleys, but which have a shorter, logical, and safer normal route (also in relation to the transformations of the mountains that have occurred in recent decades) that develops from the neighboring valleys, are included in the respective volumes of the series, particularly in Volume 2. Monte Rosa. Valle d'Ayas and Valle di Gressoney and in Volume 8. Dent d'Hérens. Valpelline.
