The Petzl Ange Large is a very lightweight wire carabiner, excellent for both sport climbing and mountaineering when you want to maintain comfort despite its lightness. The wire gate, protected on the sides to prevent abrasion against the rock, is built with MonoFil Lock technology, making it smoother to open and more durable over time. Additionally, the surfaces that come into contact with the rope are wider, allowing for better pressure distribution and slowing down the wear of the carabiner.
The company Petzl was founded by two speleologists, Fernand Petzl and Pierre Chevalier. Together, they brought numerous innovations to their discipline and to sport climbing. In 1968, they began producing the first descenders, and in 1975, the Petzl brand officially entered the market. Founded in France, the company has always focused on research, development, and innovation; it was Petzl that invented the GRIGRI in 1991, the first self-locking belay device. In 2014, new branches were opened in Spain and Germany.
