Petzl Gully 45 Adze ice axe paddle technical mountaineering and ski mountaineering
Petzl Gully 45 Adze is a compact and ultralight ice axe developed for technical mountaineering and extreme skiing on steep slopes.
The Petzl brand has always focused on research, development, and innovation, and the Gully represents the evolution of the ice axe Petzl Ride.
The two major changes involve the blade and the Trigrest support. The banana blade, made of steel, is sharpened and tapered by 3 mm compared to the Ride.
This modification improves penetration into the snowpack and becomes extremely effective on hard snow and ice. Consequently, extraction will also be facilitated.
The Trigrest support, adjustable without the need for additional tools, allows you to control the grip of the hand or thumb in a pulling position and achieve the perfect grip necessary for the most technical passages.
Petzl Gully has all the advantages of a high-quality ice axe combined with the paddle head, which facilitates digging for holds.
Top of the line in terms of weight, Gully weighs only 280 g: the weight of two ice axes, one with a paddle and one with a hammer, corresponds to the weight of a single ice axe Quark by Petzl.
Its 45 cm length and the spike integrated into the handle allow you to store it inside your backpack.
