SCARPA Furia Air climbing shoes
SCARPA Furia Air is a climbing shoe, an absolute novelty in the market: super lightweight and perfect for indoor climbing!
The upper is made of a two-component microfiber that not only gives an unprecedented lightness to the shoe (it weighs only 150 g!), but also provides exceptional breathability. This is why it is perfect for training and competitions; you will always have dry and fresh feet.
Under the toe area, an alcantara insert has been added to increase sensitivity on the foothold and also the comfort of fit.
To create this ultra-light shoe, whose starting idea is to have a true second skin on the foot without any air gaps inside, many materials and components have been removed or thinned compared to other shoes on the market.
For this reason, a different tensioning system has been developed compared to the now-famous Drago or Furia S. The tensioning present on the Furia Air, in fact, starts from the toe and covers a wide area of the arch instead of starting directly from the heel. Called DTS (Differentiated Tension System), it allows for a single element instead of two as in the aforementioned shoes. It also allows for tensioning the shoe according to the area of the foot, concentrating most of the power on the toe.
To have a heel that is enviable, an additional PAF (Power Absorbing Fit) system has been developed: a second tensioning that pushes the force from the heel towards the toes.
As for the midsole, it is very thin but, covering a larger area compared to its sister Furia S, it provides greater rigidity in the toe area while still being an extremely soft and sensitive shoe perfect for indoor bouldering: spreading the foot on volumes will now be a piece of cake!
