The Valtellina is crossed by the Adda River, which runs through its entire length, dividing two very different mountain ranges: the Western Rhaetian Alps and the Orobie Alps. In this area, there is an incredible orographic richness that will allow you to encounter different types of rock just a few kilometers apart: granite from Val Masino, limestone from Alta Valle, gneiss and schist from Bassa and Media Valle, serpentinite from Val Malenco, verrucano from Val Gerola.
Moreover, in these valleys, there is still a lot of rock to discover, and besides the famous destinations in the world, such as Sasso Remenno, there are many other beautiful crags for all tastes! The variety is so high that you can choose the one that suits you best based on the weather, technical difficulties, mental engagement, desire to walk, and type of climbing.
