The Völkl Rise Above 88 mm is the most versatile ski in the Völkl range for ski touring. In fact, it performs best both uphill and downhill: it is light and agile uphill and very stable downhill, adapting to all types of snow.
Let’s see below some of its technical features.
The ski has a multi-layer wood core with Isocore, which ensures reduced weight (1,186 g for 170 cm in length), stability, and fluidity.
The tip (that is, the tail of the ski) is extremely durable and offers exceptional performance, especially in windy snow conditions.
The shovel, along with the skid (the central part of the ski) and the tip, are integral parts of the 3D radius technology: 3 radii of curvature in one ski! In fact, this ski guarantees dream performance both in long and wide turns in fresh snow and in narrow passages where great agility is required.
Finally, the geometry of the sidecut offers maximum liveliness and maneuverability in tight passages, while the full side ensures stability and durability. The combination of a more pronounced shape under the boot and a more moderate shape in the shovel and tail area allows for greater control and requires less effort even during excursions with heavy loads. This ski is the first choice for demanding mountaineers skiing at high altitudes!
