The G-Summit by La Sportiva is a unisex mountaineering boot that sets a new benchmark for technical high-altitude ascents, ice climbing, and big walls. Designed for progressions in winter conditions and for extended stays in low temperatures in extreme locations, this avant-garde model meets a dual need: it can be used as an extremely thermal footwear for high altitudes or as a surprisingly lightweight and precise double boot for expeditions in the most challenging climates. Thanks to the special removable liner, the insulation can be customized according to the heat requirements imposed by the terrain and the environment of use. The external gaiter is made from a single piece of water-repellent, elastic, and abrasion-resistant fabric, thermally taped and reinforced with a puncture-resistant polyurethane protective layer, completed by a breathable and enveloping upper elastic band. Inside, a thermally taped water-repellent gusset further increases protection from the elements. The internal shell utilizes the patented Core-Wrap™ technology with thermal insulating materials and structural reinforcements to ensure maximum warmth and lightness, offering a spacious volume that facilitates fitting and retains body heat better. Exceptional climbing precision is ensured by maximum adaptability to different foot shapes and a cutting-edge adjustment system: the BOA® Fit System closure, positioned externally to the gaiter for quick management even while wearing gloves in cold environments, works in perfect combination with a Power Strap at the top. The technical package underfoot includes a removable 5 mm Thermal Insoles in insulating material and a Carbon Z-Therm™ mounting insole made of insulating carbon, an innovation that allows for the complete omission of the midsole for greater sensitivity on the wall. The weight is extremely low, marking only 850 grams per half pair with the dedicated liner and 810 grams with just the thermal insole. To ensure further agility without sacrificing robustness, the external protective edge is made from ultra-light PU TechLite™. In contact with ice and rock, the Ice-Tech™ outsole with Impact Brake System Mountaineering technology is divided into two strategic parts to maximize performance both during vertical climbing and in the approach walk. This boot, characterized by full crampon compatibility, has also been developed to promote sustainability and durability: it can be fully resoled at the toe and heel, or only at the front to minimize environmental impact.
