Description
The Backland 109 by Atomic is a backcountry and freeride touring ski built for lively downhill performance and superior touring efficiency in the big mountains, ideal for skiers from beginner to expert level. With a waist width of 109 mm, this ski is designed for backcountry use and offers improved floatation on fresh snow. The core of the ski is the super lightweight Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and karuba, achieving the ideal balance between reduced weight (1540g for the 184cm size) and optimal performance, and is reinforced with fiberglass layers and Dura Cap Sidewall technology for increased durability. The HRZN 3D Backland technology on the lightweight tip increases the surface area and significantly improves floatation and swing, making it a true off-piste ski. The Powder Rocker 25/55/20 (with pronounced rocker at the tip and tail and camber underfoot) and the FreeTour Profile ensure easy and fun maneuverability on deep, groomed, or tracked snow. It features a Directional Shape for better grip and stability, a side edge angle of 87° and a base edge angle of 1.3° for easy turns and an aggressive trajectory. The glossy top finish adds a touch of elegance. For the 184cm size, the radius is 19m with a tip sidecut of 135mm, waist sidecut of 109.5mm, and tail sidecut of 124mm.
