Beal Air Force One belay device climbing
Beal Air Force One belay device and descender is designed for both beginners and those with extensive experience on the wall.
Beal has designed a belay device for single ropes that is easy and intuitive to use, and with a weight of only 44 g, it ranks among the lightest on the market.
Unlike other similar devices, the Air Force One features a V-shaped braking groove with asymmetric side notches, and a wider smooth groove without notches. The V-groove allows you to control the descent and braking maneuvers on the rope, optimizing energy absorption in the event of a fall arrest of the lead climber.
This last detail is extremely important as it minimizes passive friction on corners, limiting and eliminating rope wear during double rope descents or top roping.
You can use Air Force One with ropes ranging from 8.5 mm to 10.5 mm in diameter.
