Climbing Technology Be Up is a multi-purpose belay/rappel device for climbing and mountaineering with an innovative and compact design, suitable for use with half ropes, twin ropes, and single ropes, in mountaineering, climbing on multi-pitch sport and trad routes. Intuitive and easy to use, it features a modular braking system to optimize braking with every type of rope and allows for independent and self-locking retrieval of seconds.
It is an extremely versatile device that allows: effective belaying of the lead climber, as it provides rope smoothly, quickly, and without interruptions; during the belaying of the lead climber on multi-pitch routes with two ropes, the Be Up allows giving one rope while the other is locked, and this maneuver makes BE UP unique in its kind; the braking of the ropes through the "V" grooves is effective and modular, as they are specifically designed for better control of braking during the stop of a fall, double rope, and retrieval of seconds; independent and self-locking retrieval of one or two seconds. The particular geometry of the device and the integrated attachment loop in the body allow for the retrieval of one second while the other is hanging on the device; the unlocking and progressive lowering of a second under tension even in free fall, without effort, which is done by inserting a simple HMS carabiner into the unlocking hole; the quick transition from recovery mode (guide mode) to belaying the lead in alternating pitch climbing; descending on double rope while keeping the ropes separate. The "V" grooves allow for effective control of the descent speed, without twisting the ropes.
