Idea Montagna Galassi - Story of a refuge book: The infatuation of the Mestre Section of the Italian Alpine Club for that Refuge Galassi, located in the heart of the Eastern Dolomites, was not a fleeting one, as became clear soon enough. Starting from the summer of 1950, when its inauguration could be witnessed. The depth of such feelings would later be confirmed by the surprising role taken on by the refuge itself, with members determined to become its personal guardians. Indeed, a spontaneous idea was born among them to voluntarily take turns, week by week, in its management. They were rewarded solely by the extraordinary experiences of community life and hospitality made possible there, at the foot of Mount Antelao. No one ever regretted it afterwards.
