La Sportiva Nepal Cube GTX mountaineering boots
La Sportiva Nepal Cube GTX are mountaineering boots. One of the most well-known among climbers, this is a renewed version and was elected shoe of the year 2019.
In addition to the revised aesthetics, this boot has been further lightened: it weighs only 825 g per boot!
This is a very technical boot, intended for use at high altitudes and climbing on ice and mixed terrain with automatic crampons. It is indeed equipped with crampon attachments both at the front and at the back.
The weight has been drastically reduced due to the steel components and the lightening of the sole / midsole package. This has been made possible by the presence of a midsole with thermal and insulating properties in Carbon Tech.
They are also equipped with a Gore-Tex Insulated Comfort membrane that makes them completely waterproof, breathable, and comfortable to wear: this is indeed the softest membrane that does not stiffen the final result.
Walking is also facilitated by the presence of the 3D Flex System technology. This consists of a joint at the ankle that allows natural movement during the step, while protecting against possible twists.
The release of the lace lock is also very quick, speeding up the fitting process. There is indeed a special technology called Ez Out.
Finally, Nepal Cube GTX has a Vibram sole with Impact Brake System that absorbs shocks and brakes during descent thanks to the differentiated thickness of the lugs.
