Avalanche probe Ortovox Probe Alu 240 PFA is one of the essential devices to always have in your backpack in case of emergencies.
The main function of the probe Probe Alu 240 PFA è is to locate the burial point in the search for missing persons, specifying their exact position and depth, thus facilitating subsequent digging operations.
The probe has a length of 240 cm, is made of aluminum, and features numerical indications along the body, which are crucial for quickly reading the burial depth and assessing the snow profile. 240 cm covers the average burial depth of an avalanche.
Ortovox optimizes the new PFA system to make the probe much more compact, easy to use, and consequently more efficient during the search phase.
It is a quick tensioning system that allows you not only to open and extend the probe in one motion and directly from the casing, but also to quickly stow the probe inside your backpack.
The easy and intuitive tensioning occurs by pressing with your thumb on the cover.
The lowest segment in neon orange signals the proximity of the buried person during digging operations.
The rubber grip has also been redesigned, improved, and allows the probe to be used in all weather conditions.
