Petzl Borea women's climbing helmet
Petzl Borea women's climbing helmet is designed for versatile use ranging from climbing, mountaineering, caving, to via ferrata and canyoning.
Specifically designed for women, this helmet has reduced dimensions (one size 52-58 cm), more rounded lines, and a fantastic super innovative Petzl patent called Omega: this consists of a headband with a very pronounced opening to allow women with long hair to wear the helmet without having to figure out how to arrange their hair first. Finally, we women can wear the helmet with a ponytail!
Borea is born from an innovative change in philosophy and features a new type of protection, called Top and Side Protection, and a new closure and adjustment system.
To date, traditional Petzl climbing and mountaineering helmets that comply with regulations regarding falling rocks from above have a side band made of a thin sheet that would not protect you from a lateral impact.
Borea is revolutionary because it guarantees total protection from falling rocks from above and lateral impacts thanks to the new hybrid construction with a thick ABS shell, an EPP foam shell, and an EPS foam shell that promotes compactness on the head.
Petzl aims to reinforce Borea on the two side bands with a layer of foam that runs throughout the entire internal volume of the helmet.
Borea absorbs the energy of an impact from above, laterally, frontally, and from the rear.
