Petzl Maestro S descender with locking pulley for rescue
Petzl Maestro S is an extremely versatile device, ideal for technical rescue thanks to the locking system with integrated pulley that allows its use for both descent and ascent. It can function as a single or double main system and in self-belay configuration, while the lower connection point opens the way to various recovery modes. A hole in the handle allows for the installation of a lanyard for remote control, making the Maestro S ready for any intervention variant.
The installation of the rope is quick and intuitive thanks to the clearly marked indicators on the body of the device. The ergonomic handle releases the rope progressively, offering reassuring control during descent, and the immediate transition from descent mode to ascent mode occurs without needing to recover excess load. The Auto-Lock system automatically locks the rope when the handle is not in use, allowing for load recovery without further manual maneuvers.
In handling heavy loads, the Maestro S excels: the large diameter pulley, mounted on sealed ball bearings, guarantees an efficiency of 86% in lifting and rotates in one direction to maximize efficiency. During descent, the faceted pulley increases the friction zones on the rope for additional braking action, while the integrated brake automatically modulates friction based on the load and rope diameter.
Compatible with ropes from 10.5 to 11.5 mm for loads up to 250 kg, the Maestro S can also be used with 10 mm ropes for a maximum operational load of 150 kg and support up to 272 kg with an 11 mm rope certified NFPA General Use. Made of aluminum, stainless steel, and polyamide, with a faceted pulley on sealed ball bearings and a breaking load of 18 kN per arm (36 kN in total), the Maestro S is the reliable choice for any rescue situation.
