The Pantin by Petzl is a foot ascender designed to make climbing fixed ropes in mountaineering or caving significantly smoother, more effective, and less tiring. This device, ideal for those seeking maximum speed and effort optimization, allows the body to maintain perfect vertical balance during progression and is available in specific versions for right and left foot. Its structure is designed to ensure excellent rope glide from the very first meters, working in perfect synergy with Croll, Ascension, or Basic ascenders. Robustness is ensured by a highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel rope clamp, equipped with a special serration with a groove for the elimination of impurities that guarantees optimal grip even on frozen or muddy ropes. The straps are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) to withstand long-term mechanical abrasion typical of outdoor environments. Thanks to an extremely compact shape, the device can remain attached to the boot without hindering movement or risking accidental catches, while adjustment is entrusted to a practical and quick Doubleback buckle. One of the most appreciated features is the ease of release, which occurs with a simple backward bending motion of the leg, while for those needing extra security, it is possible to install an additional lever to keep the rope constantly in the device. Weighing only 85 grams and compatible with ropes with a diameter between 7 and 13 mm, it is an essential tool for improving performance on the wall.
