It has been carefully studied to facilitate its use: rough sheath to increase grip, improve control during rappels, and assist braking action in case of a crevasse fall.
Indeed, in the case of a crevasse fall, double rope descent, or tying in a rope team, you can use Rad Line. That's why it's always advisable to have it in your backpack along with all safety equipment: it is lightweight (weighs only 22 g per meter) and is also highly compressible.
