SCARPA Maestrale RS ski mountaineering boots

SCARPA Maestrale RS is a ski mountaineering boot designed for more experienced skiers. This is the renewed version for the 2024-2025 season.

Perfect for ski mountaineering and freeride, this boot is compatible with all skis with a width between 85 mm and 115. It is also compatible with all bindings.

Thanks to the Axial Alpine Hybrid construction, Maestrale fits perfectly to the foot, completely enveloping it. During descents, it is extremely precise while being very agile during ascents. Additionally, it is simple and quick to adjust and open.

As for the materials used, externally we find a Grilamid Bio with Carbon Core technology. The latter is an over-injected carbon insert that ensures high torsional and longitudinal rigidity of the shell, allowing for a more direct transmission of impulses to the ski and consequently greater precision. Furthermore, for better performance and sensitivity, the shape (102) has been renewed, making it more precise in the heel and medial area, and wider in the metatarsal area.

The inner boot, made of Foam Intuition, is designed to provide unprecedented comfort. Its tongue construction ensures speed of use, while the elastics on the ankle keep the shape. There are also straps at the top to facilitate entry, while in the heel area there are additional padding to lock the ankle both uphill and downhill. It is important to note that this inner boot is thermoformable, and it is recommended to thermoform it before use to enhance its performance.

There is also a RECCO localization system, which does not replace the function of the ARTVA but is an additional system applied to the velcro strap of the right boot that allows for being tracked in case of an avalanche incident. However, it is not a substitute for safety devices but an additional aid that increases the chances of being located in time.

Regarding closures, this boot has three hooks, all different from each other. The lower one features a special system called Wave Closure M-Lite, an inverted lever with a steel cable that tensions four points on the shell. A second central hook is a ratchet, and a third at the top is a classic lever. A fourth hook is considered to be the one for the velcro strap.
