Versante Sud UMBRIA Rock is the first guide that collects all the climbing crags in Umbria and the immediate surroundings. Those who wish to climb in this region will find various proposals, new or completely updated. The crags are predominantly winter ones; however, it is possible to climb in all seasons. Ultimately, UMBRIA Rock is a comprehensive guide, the result of the authors' fieldwork and a handful of friends who want to provide a tool for promoting sport climbing even in this corner of Italy.
For a long time, Umbria was known only as the "green heart" of Italy. Today, it is no longer so because, thanks to the work done by the authors, often personally involved in bolting various crags presented here, it is possible to try very different climbing styles. From the overhangs of Ferentillo to the slabs, which constitute the numerically predominant part; all within a relatively small area.
UMBRIA Rock aims to be a useful climbing book for those coming to this region for a weekend, but also for those who live here all year round. After all, climbing in Umbria is very pleasant as the crags are often set in environments that are a combination of historical places, food and wine itineraries, and solitary valleys.
