Versante Sud Lario Rock Falesie is a climbing guide that encompasses the geographical area between the cities of Lecco and Como, on the banks of the Lario, and is characterised by a century of renowned mountaineering tradition. In particular, sport climbing has developed considerably over the years, thanks to the ideal and beautiful surroundings of the Grigne and Resegone mountains.

Since the 1930s, the era of the VI grade, through the experience of Riccardo Cassin and his companions, the Lecco walls have become one of the birthplaces of limestone climbing in Italy. Since 1984, the Como and Lecco area has witnessed a rapid and constant spread of sport climbing, an evolution that has never stopped and is still vibrant today. The proximity of this area to the main cities of northern Italy favours and increases the presence of climbers at its crags, which are also known internationally.

This guide is a new edition of the previous one, published in 2018, and represents the summa of all available information on Lecco's crags, the reference for sport climbing in the Lecco and Como areas. The guide, written by the same expert authors as the previous edition, describes more than 100 crags, using the latest publishing and graphic technologies, supplemented by drawings and technical images of access paths and crag locations, together with GPS coordinates and QR codes of access paths and parking areas. Following a precise choice, this edition is enriched with many action images, as we believe that images are an essential element in describing the characteristics of a crag or route. In addition, there are many sections on history, presenting the people and places that have defined the evolution of sport climbing in this area.
