The climbing belay device with Edelrid Giga Jul Belay Kit Strike Screw carabiner is versatile, lightweight, and durable, ideal for mountain use and with ropes between 7.1 and 10 mm in diameter.
The belay device is made of aluminum and stainless steel for the parts most subject to wear and friction, offering you not only lightness but also strength and longevity.
Giga Jul works both as a classic bucket belay device in "manual" mode and as an assisted braking system in "assisted" mode.
The two modes, Guide and Assisted Braking Guide, operate intuitively based on the needs of the moment.
The first is designed for belaying the lead climber, lowering the second, and for double rope descents. The second offers greater safety in case of a fall of the lead climber. Even in this last mode, assisted braking, you still have the option to give slack to the lead climber quickly, simply by keeping the device in the "open" position with your thumb.
The set comes supplied with an Edelrid HMS Strike Screw locking carabiner.
